To train 30 women on home-based enterprise development with a focus on local handicrafts in KP. In the face of surging inflation and scarce employment opportunities, particularly for women in regions impacted by civil unrest, security challenges, and cultural barriers, such as the merged areas of KP, earning a livelihood to support their families remains a daily struggle even today. To address this, IRM, in collaboration with UNDP, is launching a PKR 12.2 million initiative to train women in business, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy skills.
Through the Merged Area Governance Programme (MAGP), 30 women from Kurram district will receive training in artisan skills, be connected with market stakeholders, and gain the tools to promote their products digitally using tablets. This eight-month project aims to foster self-reliance and sustainable growth, enabling these women to uplift themselves and their families both, financially and socially.
