IRM works on aspects of water, sanitation and hygiene where the health burden is high, where interventions could make a major difference and where the present state of knowledge is poor. Our Training work is focused at following areas:

IRM leads the Water, Sanitation and hygiene projects in partnership with RSPs, provincial governments, and USAID and UN agencies. IRM WATSAN projects have been implemented in rural areas and disaster affected areas.

Training offered under Emergency ,Relief and Sanitation :

 2010 Flood Disaster

IRM delivered Health & Hygiene Awareness Sessions after the 2010 flood disaster from September to December 2010 in relief camps of Punjab, Sindh and KP. Under “Health & Hygiene Awareness Campaign” 34,385 effectees in relief camps of Naushehra, Charsadda, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Mianwali, Rajanpur and D.G. Khan were benefitted by awareness sessions.

IRM has the experience of working in the affected areas in distribution of cooked food as well as NFI i.e. water purification sachets to address the immediate needs of clean water, distributing soaps, buckets and jerry cans for portable water.

Manual/Module Development

Past Experience

In September, 2009 IRM successfully completed the Pakistan Safe Drinking Water and Hygiene Promotion (PSDW & HPP) Project with Govt. of Pakistan and USAID. Govt has planned to install 6000 water filtration plants across Pakistan for households without access to safe drinking water. The project was executed in 31 districts including AJK.
