In 2022, IRM partnered with PepsiCo to establish five SMART Schools in Kasur, Punjab, targeting children of agricultural laborers involved in potato farming—an integral part of PepsiCo’s supply chain for Lays chips. These schools provide free primary education to underserved children, with 152 students currently enrolled.
Building on this success, the program expanded in 2023 with the opening of five additional SMART Schools in Depalpur, Okara, enrolling 145 out-of-school children. Recently, IRM formalized a new agreement with PepsiCo to further expand the initiative by establishing five more schools in Multan to serve vulnerable children in the region. This partnership reflects a shared dedication to fostering education and uplifting communities through sustainable interventions.
